Games Games are always popular on a web site. Most web surfers can't resist to do a little trivia quizz. Research by Jupiter Communications shows that the majority of online gamers are adults who play parlor games such as chess and backgammon. You are presented with a multiple choice quiz and a basic response page. The only thing I didn't like about this was that it pops up in a seperate window without your visitors permission ! As a customer I always close them before they display and make a note to never go back to the website. Anyway, its your choice - the nice thing is that the code is provided and you could probably make changes so it displayed on user demand or even inline somehow. COST: FreeMazeworks - Highly Recommended An excellent selection of Java games for your website. The source code can be downloaded, but it is only for personal or educational use. If you want to use it for commercial sites you will have to contact the owners for permission. COST: FreeSlippery Parrot Chess News Add a scrolling ticker of the latest Chess news to your website. There doesn't appear to be any branding on this so it will blend in very well with your website. COST: FreeChristian Computer Game Reviews Unique game reviews from a Christian perspective. You are free to copy or link to the reviews as long as you give the approriate credit to the author with a link to the site. See the copyright link at the bottom of the page. Great kidsafe content for family and child sites. Freegamesplay.com A collection of Flash games for your website. The webmaster here is quite generous and is even offering the actual .swf file to certain sites. COST: FreeCrazy Bone Online Games Add a large selection of Java based games to your site. The Java classes are kept offsite at Crazybone.com and there is a Java Script menu system, ideal for side bar navigation. You can choose between Arcade or Classic Board games, or both. Some require a link back and some require that you get the permission of the author. There is even limited branding allowable in the bowling game. COST: FreeBullseyes Games - Highly Recommended A simple, but (I thought) quite nifty little Flash game you can add to your website. Your cursor becomes a target and you have to simply aim and click your mouse at the moving targets. Not much too it but I still find it an interesting diversion. COST: FreeLoonyVerse Games - Highly Recommended Add a range of high quality Java, Flash and Shockwave games to your website. Download the zip file and follow the instructions to install the games into your pages. COST: FreeEclipseCrossword - Highly Recommended A wonderful software offering. A professional crossword creator that can generate static or interactive crosswords for ezines, web pages or newsletters. Thanks to Ziegen for pointing this one out ! COST: FreePrizeGames.com If you join as an affiliate they allow you to place games on your site. They also rotate the games so thay different games appear from time to time (Not sure this is so good for stickiness though) . Some people are reporting problems with some systems. COST: FreeNCBuy Network Numerous games you can download and add to your website with no strings attatched. There is also a regularaly updated cartoon you can add to your site as well. COST: FreeFlash4All.com There is the promise of more flash games you can add to your site in the future, but for now there is one quite addictive flash game of Royal Poker. You can only use them for free on non-commercial sites. COST: FreeCrossword Compiler - Highly Recommended I don't normally add NON-Free items into this index, but there have been a number of enquiries about crosswords for websites so I thought I would add this fantastic program. You can EASILY create Java crosswords and have them on your website in a matter of minutes. The application to create the crossword is very sophisticated as is the interface for the users playing the game. COST: Free Evaluation, $USD 45 to purchaseTrivia Host A small collection of Trivia games for your website. They are Java games that simply require a few lines of HTML to be added to your page. COST: FreeSticky Tetris - Highly Recommended A fantastic DHTML game you can customise and load onto your site. Games are one of the stickiest mediums available and Tetris is one of the more addictive games around. COST: FreeFree-Web-Games.com A large collection of Shockwave games you can add to your web site. COST: FreeWrath Hmmm. What can I say. A tasteless and destructive game with no point or meaning, created as an example of the authors skills. The author of this game is allowing anybody to upload it onto their website. However your site will have to be quite specialised. I was in two minds whether to include it in FreeSticky but decided there may be the odd website out there that can find it useful. I'am sure with direction that the author could create some very interesting games. COST: FreeLake Loquax - Highly Recommended You can add your own Lake Loquax kiosk to your site. You visitors can play a Java game where they have to run a café. Very good game, highly sticky and a high degree of customisation. COST: FreeCrossword Buddy A useful tool to help with crosswords.
